We are seeking passionate, entrepreneurial travel professionals to join our team as JTravel Curators (Independent Contractors). This is not simply a travel agent position—JTravel Curators are luxury travel specialists who craft personalized travel experiences, provide white-glove concierge service, and create thoughtful surprises that transform ordinary vacations into extraordinary journeys.

Position Overview

As an Independent Contractor, you will build your own travel curation business under the Voyage JTravels brand, earning commission-based income with significant growth potential. You will have access to our brand, systems, supplier relationships, training, and marketing support—while maintaining the flexibility and autonomy of independent contractor status.

You will never be on your own. Voyage JTravels actively supports you in generating and nurturing travel leads so you can sell travel confidently as a JTravel Curator. Our goal is to help you build a consistent, well-rounded source of qualified travel leads—while working hard to keep you aligned with your chosen specialty.

All JTravel Curators must be willing to sell to cruisers, serve clients within the specialty track they apply for, and be trained as a well-rounded Curator who can confidently support our all-inclusive travelers as well.

Key Responsibilities

  • Client Relationship Management
    • Conduct in-depth discovery consultations to understand client preferences, travel styles, budgets, and desires
    • Build and maintain long-term relationships with JTravelers through exceptional service
    • Provide concierge support before, during, and after travel (including availability for urgent matters)
    • Follow up post-travel for feedback, testimonials, and repeat business
  • Travel Curation & Planning
    • Research and curate luxury travel experiences across destinations and travel categories
    • Design detailed, professionally presented travel proposals with multiple options
    • Coordinate accommodations, flights, transfers, dining, experiences, and activities
    • Embed thoughtful surprise elements to create memorable moments
    • Manage complex logistics for individuals, couples, families, and groups (8+ travelers)
  • Booking & Operations
    • Execute bookings through Voyage JTravels’ host agency systems
    • Ensure accuracy in reservations, travel documents, and communications
    • Coordinate with suppliers, hotels, cruise lines, tour operators, and local partners
    • Advise on travel insurance, visa assistance, and travel document organization
    • Manage payment collection, deposits, and financial coordination per agency procedures
  • Brand Representation & Growth
    • Represent Voyage JTravels professionally in client interactions, marketing, and social media
    • Follow brand voice, messaging, and visual identity guidelines
    • Participate in monthly team meetings, training sessions, and agency initiatives
    • Contribute to content development (blog, social media, marketing)
    • Build referral networks and pursue business development within your specialty
  • Compliance & Quality
    • Maintain professional liability (E&O) insurance with minimum $500,000 coverage
    • Adhere to regulatory requirements, industry ethics codes, and seller-of-travel compliance
    • Follow SOPs for booking, communication, and quality control
    • Maintain accurate records of client interactions, bookings, and financial transactions
    • Respond to client inquiries within 24 business hours

  • Training on hotel and resort inspections, including how to evaluate a property for luxury fit, client experience, and sales positioning
  • Requirement: you must be able to produce clear stay/inspection reports (photos, highlights, room categories, dining, service notes, pros/cons, and ideal client match)
  • Access to FAM trips (familiarization trips) at reduced travel-agent rates not available to the public—designed to help you experience what clients experience, strengthen sales confidence, and build real supplier connections
  • Networking opportunities within the travel industry through supplier events, trainings, and FAM-trip relationships

Compensation Structure (Summary)

  • Commission-Based Earnings (70/30 Split)
    • JTravel Curator receives 70% of Voyage JTravels’ net commission from supplier bookings
    • Voyage JTravels retains 30% to cover overhead, systems access, marketing support, compliance, and administrative services
  • Tiered Advancement Opportunities
    • Beginner Tier (0–12 months): 60% split during training phase
    • Intermediate Tier (12–24 months): 70% split with proven performance
    • Advanced Tier (24+ months): 80% split for established performance
  • Affiliate Fee Structure
    • Initial Agency Affiliation Fee: $399 (non-refundable)
    • Monthly Administrative Fee: $95/month (non-refundable)

Required Qualifications (Highlights)

  • Must be 18+ and legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Willing to complete a background check
  • Ability to obtain and maintain professional liability (E&O) insurance (minimum $500,000)
  • Strong communication, attention to detail, organization, and client service standards
  • Comfortable working independently (Independent Contractor/1099)
  • Home office setup with reliable internet, computer, and phone
